德州的夏天总被夸张地形容为 hot like hell，但华盛顿州的夏天却真的像天堂。西雅图的人们在忍受了九个月的的阴雨和严寒之后，终于可以迎来 evergreen state 一年中最好的阳光和温暖。Mount Rainier 向南的部分叫 Paradise，Olympic 语源自古希腊的众神之地，真是没有更副其实的好名字了。两个国家公园都是走 trail 的好地方，在六七十度的阳光里，行走在通向雪山的步道上，的确是 summer escape 的理想写意生活。而屡次领会的是，最美的风景总是在忍耐和坚持之后：去年冬天的罕见大雪，孕育了今年八月 Berkeley Park 如诗如画的野花胜景；在 Hurricane Hill 的耐心等待，奖励给了我们在 Obstruction Point 坐看云卷云舒；Frozen Lake 淅淅沥沥的雨，让我们兴奋于 Mt Rainier 探出云雾面纱的一刹那。
从 Space Needle 俯视 downtown，就像在 Twin Peaks 俯视三藩
喜欢像 SF, Québec 这样清凉多山的城市，西雅图也是同样的类型。
